Sunny Sightings in Ireland
Ireland may have its fair share of rainy days but my trip was filled with sunshine, which is why I’ve decided to dedicate an entire photo post to the sunshine filled skies of the Irish countryside.
City Escape – one of Dublin’s most scenic parks. It’s perfect for a quick break from busy city life. This particular one is Iveagh Gardens and it’s located behind the more popular St. Stephens Green making it a true hidden gem.
The Ring of Kerry – this photo was taken from the “Ladies’ View” of Kilarney National Park. From here you can see the Gap of Dunloe, Ross Castle and the Black Valley.
Kilarney Close Up - This is one of many photographs I took during our nearly two hour walk through the park, led by a guide who literally knew every solitary detail about Ireland’s past, present and future (John of SouthWestWalks)
Finding my Secret Garden – I’m slightly obsessed with gardens so naturally, I had a field day walking through the Muckross House gardens and surrounding grounds before taking the indoor tour.
Riding into the sun – The sun kept shining during our horse carriage ride through Killarney National Park all the way to Ross Castle. It was the perfect end to a perfect day.
Lazy Afternoons – I can’t think of a better way to spend a lazy day than by taking a ride in one of these boats. It was very comforting to watch all the little children playing around the pond.
Morning Bears its Sleepy Head - I’m still in awe of my view from my Bed & Breakfast. Watching the sun rise over the coastal rocks and neighboring fields was pure magic and certainly unlike anything I’d seen before.
My Morning View - another shot of my morning view just minutes later after the sun had risen in the sky. It was by far the best backdrop I could have imagined.

Beautiful photos! I kind of love the look of Ireland when the weather is a little overcast with a touch of sun breaking through – it gives the countryside this moody kind of prettiness.

Great pics. The sun shining upon you in beautiful Ireland — how wonderful is that? When I visited Ireland, our first day was unseasonably warm and sunny — glorious. The rest of the trip, it rained quite a bit or was overcast. And you know what? It didn’t matter one bit. I’ll take Ireland in any kind of weather!

It really is Sofia! I’m sure you will get there soon.
Some lovely shots. I heard someone say once that if you can’t manage to take some beautiful photos while in Ireland that you should give up photography! But no worries for you, these are great and enticing.
